Meet Kompu.
AI for kids.
What Kompu is
Kompu is AI for kids, designed around childhood from the start rather than adapted from software for adults. A child taps one big button and asks out loud. Kompu answers in a calm voice, in words that fit their age, from a preschooler to a young teen, and often asks what they think before it explains.
There are no feeds, no friends lists, no points, no streaks, and no ads. Kompu is not built to keep a child talking. It often points them back to the real world: look outside, try it, draw it, or ask you.
Kompu is an AI, and it says so. It never pretends to be a person, a friend, or a member of your family, and if your child asks what it is, it tells them plainly. It is not a teacher, a doctor, or a replacement for the people in your child's life. Read how we keep children safe.
Why it exists
Most AI is built for adults and adjusted for children afterwards. Kompu starts from what children need: honest answers about how the world works, including money, advertising, unfairness, and why people sometimes act badly, told in a way that leaves them kind rather than cynical.
Hard questions about death, bodies, war, or sadness get real, gentle answers, not refusals. When something a child says sounds serious, Kompu tells them to find a grown-up they trust, and you get a note.
Parents stay in control
You own the account
- Children exist only as profiles under your account.
- Kid Mode opens on your device. Leaving it needs a grown-up.
- Choose whether Kompu reads answers aloud and keeps history.
- Read your child's conversations at any time.
Safety is built in
- Every question and every answer is checked before your child hears it.
- Kompu never asks for names, addresses, schools, or photos.
- Kompu never encourages secrets from parents or contact with strangers.
- If a child says something worrying, Kompu encourages them to talk to a trusted grown-up, and you get a note, even when history is off.
How privacy works
- We ask for a nickname and an age range. Never a full name, birthday, or school.
- If a child says something private, like a phone number, it is hidden before anything is saved.
- Conversation history is off until you turn it on.
- On iPhone and iPad, your child's voice is turned into text on the device. We never keep recordings.
- No advertising, no selling data, no tracking, no public profiles.
- Delete a conversation, a child, or your whole account at any time. Deleting really deletes.
